This week's training was quite fun! Spent 2 days getting lost in the Jungle. Hahax!
The sunday of this week was burnt due to the Basic Main Range, BMR, or the vehicle. We went live firing for our weapon on our Vehicle. For my Vehicle is the M113 Bushmaster cannon. Quite fun to shoot though. For us the OWS fires, we spent the night at Sungei Gedong. We sleep at the training shed all the way till next morning. Coz it was cat 1 at night all the way and because of that we cant go and pick up the RAI, the round's catridge. Every RAI is accounted for!
Monday when we get back to camp in the morning at around 7am. We get to sleep all till lunch time. After lunch we had lesson on how to read map and compass. Pretty much like Geography.
Tuesday was the compass course where we are dump inside a 180 by 180 jungle in Pasir Laba Camp and we have to go from checkpoint to checkpoint with the help of the compass. Morning 4 Checkpoint and Night 2 Checkpoint. All of them I got the Checkpoint right on target. Piece of Cake! Hahax
Wednesday eve of deepavali we went to Marsling, Opposite Mandai camp where the Jungle is. This time its Section movement with our Section Commander. We are to find 2 checkpoint in the morning and 1 checkpoint at night. We are not allowed to use the tracks so we have to bash through the Jungle. For the morning my section finished first. Piece of cake! Hahax I was the navigater so I read the map and gave the direction. The night one We came in last... The route we took, two other section followed us. So its about the size of one platoon. The jungle route was too dense and so we had a really hard time. We let the other two section find the checkpoint first and so in the end we finish last. When we go back we wash up and prepare to book out. We booked out at... Check this out... 12am! Hahax
Thursday morning 12plus in the morning we booked out. By the time I get ready to sleep all its already 2am. Spent my deepavali going beach road for a walk and following that a good Sisha! Hahax
